Steve Cartagena is Director, Marketing at The Energy Project. In this role, Steve plans and oversees all marketing campaigns, events, social media, and marketing strategy to reach new customers. He is responsible for building programs and campaigns, collaborating with teams such as product and sales, and reporting on marketing metrics.
Before joining The Energy Project as Marketing Director, Steve held a variety of digital marketing positions, most recently specializing in search engine optimization for software company Oracle. He also brings a great deal of strategic experience and knowledge from his time at Peralta Design, where he handled a range of accounts for entrepreneurs, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies.
While working as a Program Coordinator for the University of Connecticut African American Cultural Center, Steve orchestrated many successful educational and community outreach events, attracting thousands of yearly attendees. He also led marketing and branding efforts, identified speakers and balanced the complex logistics of event planning.
Steve volunteers as part-time Marketing Director for Level Up Community Gym, where he’s been a non-profit board member since 2016. As well as holding a BA in Digital Media and Design from the University of Connecticut, Steve is fluent in English and Spanish, plays the drums and enjoys singing – he was part of an acapella group for two years.
